First we drive to Bled where we board a boat that will take us to the island where the st. Mary´s church is set. Ring the bell of wishes and walk around Slovenia´s only island and continue towards the castle where you can enjoy the glorious view of the lake.
We then continue towards another gorgeous lake, Bohinj, and stop on the lakeside next to the church of st. John the Baptist from where we admire the wonderful view of the lake and its surroundings. We take a cable car to mount Vogel (1535m) from where we see almost all Julian Alps and, of course, Bohinj Lake from above.
We finish the excursion with a short walk through Vintgar Gorge, carved by river Radovna. In the evening return to the Hotel.
Image of paradise, as it was called by Slovenian poet – France Prešeren. View of Bled island with church of St. Mary with view of Bled castle and Karavanke mountains behind.
Vintgar Gorge shows the incredible intact nature of Bled area and with its steep depths, rapid river, vegetation and the largest waterfall in Slovenia doesn´t fail to impress.
You can´t leave Bled without trying Kremna rezina (custard cream cake), a traditional Slovenian dessert.
Lake Bohinj is one of the top natural pearls of Slovenia. In the summer time its clear water offers the possibility of bathing and other sports activities.
