Drive toward Kras – Karst area of Slovenia and stop on the way along beautiful vineyards and stone built houses and churches. The area is unique as there are no running waters over there, so people had to adjust to harder life and due to its strong dry wind they started producing local delicious Karst prosciutto and unique very dark wine Teran. Next we visit Lipica stud farm, established in 1580 when Charles II, Archduke of Inner Austria (son of Ferdinand I, Holy Roman Emperor) decided to establish a new stud farm for needs of Austrian army. Location was selected at Lipica in Slovenian Kras (Karst), where soil and climate is similar to the one in Spain, from where first horses were brought. Guided tour of stables and barns to explore history of “dancing” horses where they still breed 400 of this beautiful white horses. A few times a week you can also enjoy in performance of classical riding school. Return to Koper.
