Visit one of the most popular and most visited areas in Slovenia, the Slovenian coast with old towns of Koper and Piran. Town of Piran is built on a peninsula and overlooked by grand church of St. George and city walls from where you have the best view of old town. Walk across Tartini square and admire old Town hall, Courthouse and other colourful Venetian houses surrounding the old square. Continue through narrow streets towards Franciscan monastery and Punta at the end of peninsula. Admire the original ´Lipizzaner horses´ in the Lipica stud farm.Lipica stud farm was established in 1580 when Charles II, Archduke of Inner Austria (son of Ferdinand I, Holy Roman Emperor) decided to establish a new stud farm for needs of Austrian army. Location was selected at Lipica in Slovenian Kras (Karst), where soil and climate is similar to the one in Spain, from where first horses were brought. Guided tour of stables and barns to explore history of “dancing” horses where they still breed 400 of this beautiful white horses. A few times a week you can also enjoy in performance of classical riding school. Return to Koper.

Lipica stud farm on the border with Italy was established in 1580 by Austrian Archduke charles for needs of military. In Lipica you can enjoy in performace of Classical riding school several days per week and walk among stables holding more than 400 Lipizzaners.
The Piran salt pans are one of the few left where the salt is produced by centuries old processes. The salt produced (Piran Salt) has protected designations of origin status.
