Drive to the Mediterranean coast and visit Piran. Town is built on a peninsula and overlooked by grand church of St. George and city walls from where you have the best view of old town. Walk across Tartini square and admire old Town hall, Courthouse and other colourful Venetian houses surrounding the old square. Continue through narrow streets towards Franciscan monastery and Punta at the end of peninsula.
Visit the coastal town Portorož and later, Lipica stud farm Lipica stud farm, established in 1580 when Charles II, Archduke of Inner Austria (son of Ferdinand I, Holy Roman Emperor) decided to establish a new stud farm for needs of Austrian army. Location was selected at Lipica in Slovenian Kras (Karst), where soil and climate is similar to the one in Spain, from where first horses were brought. Guided tour of stables and barns to explore history of “dancing” horses where they still breed 400 of this beautiful white horses. In the afternoon return to Ljubljana.
