Classical Eastern Europe Christmas Tour

Day 1

Vienna

Arrival to the Vienna airport and start Eastern Europe Christmas tour. Meet and greet by your private guide/driver, transfer to the hotel and some free time. Overnight in Vienna.

Day 2

Vienna – Bratislava – Budapest

Morning departure from Vienna towards Budapest with a stop in Bratislava to visit the old town and to explore the Christmas market between City Hall and St. Martin’s Cathedral. In the late afternoon we continue to Budapest for an overnight.

Charming city centre of city that used to be capital of Hungary and is today the capital of Slovakia, Bratislava.

Day 3

Budapest

Full day to explore Budapest, one of the most beautiful European capitals, even more spectacular at Christmas time. Drive through the city and outside visit of the main attractions with Buda Castle, Parliament, Citadel, Andrassy Avenue, Heroes Square, etc. Later on, we enjoy in a one-hour river cruise on the Danube to see the city from other perspective. Overnight in Budapest.

Day 4

Budapest – Zagreb

After breakfast drive to Croatia and its capital, Zagreb, which has built one of the most interesting Christmas markets in Europe on its many picturesque squares. Walk through the market and overnight in Zagreb.

Day 5

Zagreb – Ljubljana

In the morning drive towards Slovenia and visit Ljubljana´s old town with a picturesque illumination of the castle hill and old town beneath. Walk through the old town and sightseeing of the main sites: Triple Bridge, Dragon Bridge, the University, Town Hall and the castle with amazing views. Overnight in Ljubljana.

Day 6

Ljubljana – Postojna – Bled – Salzburg

In the morning we head towards Postojna Cave which is one of the most interesting natural sites on the tour with beautiful illumination and electric train ride through the cave. We then continue to the beautiful Lake Bled which has a speacial charm in the winter time. Visit of the castle for beautiful view before we head to Austria towards Salzburg. Overnight in Salzburg.

Day 7

Salzburg with lakes

After breakfast drive to Salzburg lakes area, more known as Salzkammergut. Visit of Mondsee and Wolfgangsee which were background for The Sound of Music movie. All villages in the area turn into picturesque Christmas markets where they sell local products, mulled wine and punch. In the evening return to Salzburg for an overnight.

˝Salt” city – Salzburg, known also as home of famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and today fully under UNESCO protection.

Day 8

Salzburg – Cesky Krumlov – Prague

After breakfast drive to medieval Cesky Krumlov, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where time has stood still for centuries. Walk through one of the most charming medieval towns in Europe, located along Vltava river. In the evening we continue to Prague for an overnight.

Day 9

Prague

Full day to explore Prague. With local private guide you will visit 1,000-year-old Hradcany Castle, former residence of the Bohemian kings, the Cathedral of St. Vitus and the Old Town Square with its Astronomical Clock. Admire the many spires and bridges from Castle Hill. At leisure, seek out the locations used in the movies ´Amadeus´ or ´Mission Impossible´ take a romantic walk across illuminated Charles Bridge, shop for crystal, try Czech beer or enjoy the wonderful Christmas atmosphere. Overnight in Prague.

Prague is definitely one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and gets even more special charm at christmas time.

Day 10

Prague – Vienna

In the morning we will head back to Vienna for an afternoon & evening exploration of one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in the world. Walk around St. Stephen`s cathedral towards Graben street and through Hofburg towards City Hall to the heart of Christmas happening. Overnight in Vienna.
