Day 1

Ljubljana

Arrival at Ljubljana airport, where you’ll be met by the local guide/driver who will take you to the hotel. Free time for relaxation and, in the afternoon, sightseeing tour of the old town. Overnight in Ljubljana.

Day 2

Ljubljana – Lakes Bled & Bohinj – Ljubljana

In the morning we start the private tour in Slovenia with a drive to Bled to admire the beautiful Alpine lake with its charming island and castle 130 metres above the lake. We then drive deeper into the Julian Alps to explore another Alpine pearl – Bohinj, with a cable car ride to Mt. Vogel. In the evening transfer to Ljubljana.

Day 3

Ljubljana – Idrija – Ljubljana

After breakfast, we drive towards Idrija to visit the UNESCO protected mercury mine which used to be one of the largest in the world. Visit of the mine and short walk through the town centre. We continue, driving back to Ljubljana for an overnight.

Day 4

Ljubljana – Škocjan Caves – Poreč – Rovinj

Our drive takes us to another UNESCO site in Slovenia – the Škocjan Caves. Later we head towards Croatia and its northern coastal region, Istria. Our next visit is Poreč and the Euphrasian Basilica from the 6th century – another UNESCO site. In the afternoon drive to and overnight in Rovinj.

Day 5

Rovinj – Pula – Zagreb

After breakfast, we continue with the tour of Istria. We visit Pula and its Roman amphitheatre which could seat around 20,000 people. After exploring Pula, we head towards the Croatian capital Zagreb. Overnight in Zagreb.

Day 6

Zagreb – Plitvice Lakes

We start the day with a morning sightseeing tour of the old Croatian capital – the church of St. Mark’s, Cathedral, Parliament, Ban Jelačić Square etc. Next, we drive to the Plitivce Lakes that are also protected under UNESCO. 16 large and small lakes and 92 waterfalls make up one of the most magnificent sites in the world. Overnight in Plitvice.

Day 7

Plitvice – Zadar – Šibenik – Split

We leave after breakfast and drive towards Dalmatia. Our first stop is Zadar. Listen to the Sea “organs”, view the “salutation of the Sun” and admire its medieval churches of St. Donatus and St. Anastasia. Visit the old Roman Forum. Our drive then takes us to Šibenik with its UNESCO protected cathedral of St. James and medieval town surrounding it. In the evening we continue to Split for our overnight stay.

Day 8

Split – Trogir – Split

In the morning we continue with a visit to Trogir, a charming medieval Renaissanse town built on a small island, also a UNESCO site. Admire the famous cathedral of St. Lawrence and city walls. In the evening return to Split for a guided tour of the old town, Diocletian’s Palace, cathedral of St. Duje and Riva. Overnight in Split.

Day 9

Split – Island Hvar

We start the day taking a ferry to the island of Hvar which is one of the most famous along the Dalmatian coast. Upon arrival at Hvar we visit Stari Grad, protected by UNESCO. In the afternoon we head for Hvar town to visit one of the best protected towns on the Dalmatian islands. Overnight in Hvar.

Day 10

Hvar – Mostar – Dubrovnik

After breakfast we drive towards Bosnia & Herzegovina to visit Mostar and the iconic bridge over the Neretva, protected by UNESCO. In the morning, a short stop at Počitelj, a beautiful “Turkish-style” village also under the UNESCO protection, and continue our drive along the Neretva river to admire millions of mandarin trees before reaching Dubrovnik late in the evening. Overnight in Dubrovnik.

Day 11

Dubrovnik

Full day to admire the pearl of the Adriatic, UNESCO protected Dubrovnik: the Rector’s Palace, Cathedral, Franciscan monastery, Old Port, etc. In the afternoon free time and optional trip to nearby Lokrum island. Overnight in Dubrovnik.

Day 12

Dubrovnik – Kotor – Dubrovnik

We complete our jouney in Montenegro. Explore the largest fjord of the Adriatic, Boka Kotorska, the UNESCO protected town of Kotor and coastal city of Budva. In the evening return and overnight in Dubrovnik.

Dubrovnik departure

Departure from Dubrovnik airport and end of 11 UNESCO sites tour.
